LOS ANGELES, CA — Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) celebrated its extraordinary 125-year legacy of caring for children and families at its 2026 Gala on Saturday, October 17, at The Event Deck at L.A. LIVE in downtown Los Angeles. Bringing together entertainment, philanthropy, community leadership, and a shared commitment to pediatric healthcare, the milestone event honored the individuals and organizations helping shape a healthier future for children.
Red Carpet of Hollywood was on the scene, with Maya Tuffin conducting red carpet interviews and capturing the spirit of an evening dedicated to compassion, generosity, and life-changing medical care.
Honoring Those Who Make a Difference
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the 2026 Courage to Care Awards to legendary radio personality Ellen K, host of The Ellen K Morning Show, and philanthropists Kourtney and Justin Turner, founders of the Justin Turner Foundation.
The awards recognize individuals whose compassion, leadership, and generosity have made a meaningful impact on children and families. Their work reflects the spirit of the evening: bringing communities together to help children receive the care, support, and opportunities they deserve.
The gala also celebrated CHLA’s 125-year history of advancing pediatric medicine and highlighted its ambitious $1.25 billion Anniversary Campaign, which supports the future of pediatric healthcare, groundbreaking research, and medical education.
Michael Bublé Headlines an Unforgettable Evening
Adding star power to the celebration, Grammy Award-winning international superstar Michael Bublé headlined the gala. With more than 75 million albums sold worldwide, five Grammy Awards, and 15 JUNO Awards, Bublé brought his celebrated musical legacy to an event centered on hope and healing.
Golden Globe Award-winning actress Gina Rodriguez, best known for her breakout role in Jane the Virgin and her work on ABC’s Will Trent, served as the evening’s host. Rodriguez’s participation brought together the worlds of entertainment and philanthropy in support of CHLA’s mission.
The gala featured a red carpet, cocktail reception, dinner, and an after-party with DJ Dense, the official DJ and host for the Los Angeles Clippers.
Jordan Chiles Highlights the Power of Pediatric Care
Two-time Olympian and gold medalist Jordan Chiles presented the gala’s 2026 Mission Moment, shining a spotlight on the Jackie and Gene Autry Orthopedic Center at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
The center provides specialized care to thousands of children each year, helping young patients navigate complex orthopedic conditions through innovative treatments, rehabilitation, and research. Its work illustrates how medical expertise, dedicated healthcare professionals, and compassionate support can help children overcome challenges and reach their full potential.
The Mission Moment served as a reminder that behind every medical breakthrough are children and families whose lives can be changed by access to exceptional care.
A Community United for Children
The celebration also recognized the leadership of CHLA Anniversary Campaign Co-Chairs Nikki DeLoach and Jeffrey Worthe, who continue to support the hospital’s 125th-anniversary milestone.
CHLA also acknowledged the contributions of Honorary Campaign Chairs and longtime advocates Jamie Lee Curtis, Jimmy Kimmel, Sugar Ray Leonard, and Chuck Lorre for their support of the Anniversary Campaign.
The evening reflected the collective commitment of philanthropists, advocates, families, medical professionals, and community partners who help sustain the hospital’s work. Through the Anniversary Campaign, CHLA aims to strengthen the future of pediatric medicine, expand research opportunities, and continue delivering exceptional care to children and families.
